Soon after Christopher King was commissioned as the Tower's first Photographer in Residence it was decided that his working process should be made accessible to everyone. With this in mind the Light of Many Days Blog was created to run alongside his practice as a form of online sketchbook. The title was taken from the inscription from the Tower's execution site memorial by Brian Catling.
'Gentle visitor pause awhile - where you stand death cut away the light of many days - here jewelled names were broken from the vivid thread of life - may they rest in peace while we walk the generations around their strife and courage - under these restless skies'.
